Read some of our frequently asked questions about logo design projects.
The process normally starts with a fact-finding discovery session. Here, I will be able to find out more about your business and objectives and get a feel for the company.
The discovery session can take place face to face at my offices in Ripon, North Yorkshire, or we can discuss over Zoom. I create logos for businesses all over the world.
Once we have had our initial chat, I will then start the sketching process. As a general rule, I will sketch many options and then narrow this down to 3 which I will then present to you with mock-ups showing the logo being used in the real world. Clients find this stage particularly beneficial when the logo is presented on different mediums such as outdoor advertising, websites, print etc.
Yes of course, there are lots of logo design project examples on my website. I work with clients in a range of sectors and industries.
A typical project would allow for approx. 3 revisions with colours and styling. However, with the benefit of the initial discovery session, the majority of clients love their logo design without needing any revisions!
After the initial discovery session there is usually a 1 week turnaround to start the project and then it is usually completed in 2-3 weeks. I keep all clients updated with the logo design project along the way.

I always supply mock-ups to showcase a client’s logo in different settings relevant to their business.
If you have some ideas of logos you like and what you’re aiming for with your own logo design then I’m happy to review those for inspiration and then I can set to work on creating your brand new logo that will be professional and tailored to your objectives.
I wrote an interesting blog about 25 of the most recognisable logos in the UK which might help to give you some logo inspiration too.
Yes, of course!
I work with many companies who come to me looking for a new brand identity or an entirely new brand. There’s a lot to consider and I can work with you from the start to help develop your new brand. Find out more about my brand identity design services.
The questions I will ask will be during the initial logo design discovery session. My aim is to try and develop a personality for your business, so I will need to know things like your company history, what you do, who you target, are you fun / serious / corporate etc.
The discovery session will be informal and allow for free-flowing ideas!
A good logo designer will take the time to understand you and your business objectives in order to start a logo project. The fundamental rules of logo design are, in my opinion, about understanding the client, where they have come from and where they want to go so that the design can I create truly encapsulates a forward-thinking and progressive brand in your specific sector.
All the logos I create I stick to a proven formula: keep it simple, make it relevant to the intended audience, design it to be flexible and adaptive and make sure it’s distinctive and differentiates you from the competition.
